The town of Portsmouth is located in Newport County, Rhode Island, and is approximately 25 minutes from Newport.Portsmouth sits at the northern tip of Aquidneck Island and bounded by Middletown to the south and two bodies of water: Narragansett Bay to the west and the Sakonnet River to the east. Among its features are several public golf courses, antique shops, and quaint boutiques and numerous marinas.
